Cornerstone Center for the Arts will offer two sessions of its popular Summer Arts Camp this summer. The first is June 19-23 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the second week July 17-21 at the same times each day. Children ages 7 to 14 will love this weeklong exploration into the arts and related areas.
Each day of camp students will rotate through different classes. Visual arts will include painting, sculpting, mixed media, ceramics, and even some experimental art forms. Theatre class will consist of improvisation games, skit writing, staging, acting methods, and voice exercises. Martial Arts combines both the discipline of traditional martial arts with leadership skills, self-defense, fun games, and obstacle courses.
This summer camp will also feature numerous science education experiments, trips to PhyXTGears/Muncie Delaware Robotics at MadJax, and 3D design and printing provided from Muncie Public Library’s Maker Space. The inclusion of these programs into the camp curriculum is the result of a desire to better incorporate the STEAM education approach into Cornerstone’s programs.
Camp is $150 per student with a multiple child discount of $90 per child. The reduced price with financial aid is $125 per child to families who qualify. Registration is available online, at Cornerstone’s second floor desk, or by calling 765-281-9503.
