Cornerstone Center for the Arts will begin its spring class session the week of January 30, 2017. These classes will meet for 12 weeks and will end the week of April 24. Classes have low-cost one time fees with limited financial aid available to those who qualify. Classes in the spring include the categories of dance, visual arts, theatre, music, and martial arts for youth and adults.
Classes for toddlers and pre-k children include: Family Art for ages 1 to 2 and ages 3 to 5. Early Ballet I and II, Early Hip Hop Jazz I and II, Early Tap I and II, Music & Movement, and Early Ballet for ages 1 to 2.
Classes designed for elementary and middle school students include: Early and Youth Piano, Let’s Make Art, Youth and Family Ceramics, Youth Painting for kindergarten through third grade and fourth through eighth grade, Youth Printing, Youth Lyrical, Martial Arts, Youth Calligraphy & Graffiti, Musical Theatre Dance, Acting 101 and 102, Youth Tap, Youth Ballet, Youth Creative Drawing, and Youth Manga & Comic Book Drawing.
Classes for high schoolers and adults are: Adult Creative Drawing, Adult Ceramics, Adult Manga & Comic Book Drawing, 19th Century Art, Advanced Belly Dance: Fun with Folklore, Beginning Belly Dance, Adult Calligraphy & Graffiti, Contemporary & Jazz, Fashion Art, Fantasy Art, Pinworthy Crafts, Mixed Media Painting, Indian & Bollywood, Adult Ballet, USA Combat Jujitsu, Drawing, Swing Dancing, Pastels, Sculpture, Acting for Grown Ups, Adult Tap, Ballroom Dancing, Painting, Salsa Dancing, and Tango Dancing.
Cornerstone will also host a variety of workshops for youth and adults including: Pints & Paints at The Fickle Peach, Monthly Dance Club, Coffee & Paints, Free Mapping Notable Women Around the World Workshop, Family Tree Making, Bad Art Night, Free Glass Etching, Kids & Paints, Free Bracelet Making, Vintage Sign Making, Free Mapping Black History Workshop. Cornerstone’s Spring Break Arts Camp will be March 21 through 23 and will feature instruction in various art forms including but not limited to visual arts, theatre, martial arts, and dance.
