Cornerstone’s spring six week classes will begin the week of March 13. In addition to weekly classes, Cornerstone will offer a series of one-time workshops in March. March’s calendar consists of Kids & Paints, Coffee & Paints. Monthly Dance Club, Spring Break Arts Camp, Pints & Paints, and Mapping Notable Women around the World.
Kids & Paints allows children ages seven and older to create their own masterpiece. Attendees are guided step-by-step on how to paint the featured painting while having fun with friends and family. Parents are encouraged to join the workshop for a family fun night! Each workshop is $25 per person and includes all supplies and instruction. Spring Kids & Paints workshops are on March 17 and April 21. Photos of featured paintings are available on Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ Facebook page.
Coffee & Paints is similar to Pints & Paints but is held at Cornerstone Center for the Arts and is open to students in the 4th grade through adults. Attendees who are experienced artists or are completely new to painting will enjoy creating in this relaxed atmosphere. Registration is $25 per person to attend with workshops happening on Saturdays March 18, April 1, April 22, and May 13. Photos of featured paintings are available on Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ Facebook page.
Monthly Dance Club is a monthly social dance event at Cornerstone Center for the Arts. Each event begins with an hour of dance instruction in swing, ballroom, salsa, or tango dancing led by instructor David Fennig followed by open dancing. The event is a great way to spend a Saturday evening with friends while showing off already existing dance skills or learning a new dance form. Upcoming Monthly Dance Club dates are March 18 and April 1.
Cornerstone’s Spring Break Arts Camp is March 21, 22, and 23. Each day children ages 7 through 14 rotate through classes in visual arts, dance, theatre, martial arts, and more while making new friends and having a blast! Camp meets from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is a great introduction to the arts while keeping kids busy during time away from school. Registration is $75 per child or $50 per child for families who register multiple children.
Pints & Paints is a no commitment painting experience held at The Fickle Peach in Downtown Muncie. Attendees enjoy two hours of creating a unique featured painting at each workshop. The workshop is for ages 21 and up and includes one drink in the $25 registration fee. Spring Pints & Paints dates are Thursdays March 30, April 13, April 27, and May 11. Photos of upcoming paintings are available on Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ Facebook page.
In collaboration with BSU’s GIS Research and Map Collection, Cornerstone will host a Mapping Notable Women around the World workshop on Wednesday, March 29 at 6 p.m. The presentation will feature maps that tell the story of the notable leaders and events that shaped women’s history around the world – and in Muncie! This workshop is open to ages 14 through adults and is free to attend.
