Fall FUNdraising

Cornerstone Center for the Arts believes that donations do not always come in the form of checks. This fall Cornerstone will put the FUN in FUNdraising with a series of entertaining events, classes, and attractions. Each year Cornerstone awards nearly $15,000 in financial aid scholarships to youth and adults who qualify. Show your support of the organization’s mission by participating in a class or workshop, attending an event, or stopping by Son of Scarevania Haunted Attraction.

First up this fall are Cornerstone’s 12-week classes, which begin the week of September 11. Offerings include classes in visual arts, dance, theatre, music, martial arts, fitness, and more! Fees start at just $50 per person. See a full list of classes at cornerstonearts.org/education.

In addition to 12-week classes are one-time workshops including the popular Pints & Paints series at The Fickle Peach, Coffee & Paints, Kids & Paints, and Party like a Princess. Registration fees for workshops typically are $25-$30 per person.

The organization will kick-off its fall FUNdraising season on Saturday, September 30 with a special Donor Event starting at 6 p.m., Tickets for this event are $25 per person. Admission includes live entertainment by Freakhouse Flicks, The Fabulous Funcie Femmes, a ticket to the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and a ticket to both Scarevania and Son of Scarevania to be used on October 7 or 8. This event is open to ages 18 and up. Tickets to the event are limited to 150 guests and are available in advance only.

Dr. Frank N. Furter will again grace the stage at Cornerstone during the Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday, September 30. The show will begin at 8 p.m. and tickets are just $10 per person in advance or $15 the day of the show. Admission includes a free prop bag for the first 300 guests.

Son of Scarevania Haunted Attraction will again be open on the top floors of Cornerstone on Fridays and Saturdays this October. The haunt is back and even scarier than last year with new rooms and characters. Tickets will be available at the door for $12 or $20 for a dual ticket to both Son of Scarevania and the original Scarevania on Granville Ave. This haunted house is recommended for mature audiences.
