Cornerstone Center for the Arts is excited to partner again with Rock and Roll Camp for a camp designed to expand the horizons of music-minded kids ages 11 to 17. This immersive program encourages guitarists, drummers, bassists, singers, keyboardists, and DJs of all skills to take their love of music to the next level.
The camp will be held on Saturdays January 18 through February 22 from 11 am to 5 pm with the camp concluding in a concert on Sunday, February 23. Campers will spend six Saturdays learning about being a musician, music theory, song writing, concert production, promotion, presentation, music business, stage presence, instrument care, recording and producing live sound, networking, and music appreciation. The final day will be spent setting up for and performing in the finale concert.
Students will be split into groups by their previous skill level; basic, intermediate, and advanced. Groups will form bands and will work on songs to perform for the end of camp concert. Campers should plan to bring any instruments/amplifiers they own to camp. If a child does not own any of their own instruments, a limited number will be available to borrow or campers new to music will be trained in other various aspects of band and music management.
