Cornerstone Center for the Arts is excited to host Rock and Roll Summer Camp June 9 through 16. Rock and Roll Summer Camp is designed to expand the horizons of music-minded kids ages 11 to 17. This eight-day immersive program encourages guitarists, drummers, bassists, singers, keyboardists, and DJs of all skills to take their love of music to the next level.

Rock and Roll Summer Camp was created by musician Christopher Swinney in 2006 and has educated hundreds of children and teens. Many former campers have gone on to work in the music industry as both musicians and on the business side. Camp will be held from 12 to 5 p.m. daily beginning on Friday, June 9 with the camp concluding in a concert on Friday, June 16. Campers will spend these eight days learning about being a musician, music theory, song writing, concert production, promotion, presentation, music business, stage presence, instrument care, recording and producing live sound, networking, and music appreciation.

Campers will be split into groups by their previous skill level; basic, intermediate, and advanced. Groups will form bands and will work on songs to perform for the end of camp concert. Campers should plan to bring any instruments/amplifiers they own to camp. If a child does not own any of their own instruments, a limited number will be available to borrow or campers new to music will be trained in other various aspects of band and music management.

Financial Aid is not available for Rock and Roll Summer Camp, payments are due in full by Friday, June 9. This camp requires a minimum number of students, and if not fulfilled, may be cancelled.
