Keep your family active this summer by signing up for one of Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ many classes, workshops, or camps. Cornerstone will offer classes for the entire family this summer starting with ages one through adults of all ages. Summer eight-week classes begin the week of June 10 and continue through the week of July 29. Various one-time workshops and camps will also be offered throughout the late spring and summer. Registration is now open for classes for youth and adults in visual arts, dance, theatre, music, martial arts, fitness, and more!
Cornerstone’s youth classes start with age one and continue through high school. Dance classes offered this summer include Creative Movement, Early Ballet I, II, and III, Youth Ballet, Early Tap, Youth Tap, Early Hip Hop Jazz I and II, Youth Swing Dancing, Youth Lyrical, Theatrical Tap, Youth Hip Hop, Youth Contemporary & Jazz, Boys Hip Hop, Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced Performance Group. Acting 101 and 102 will be offered for youth interested in theatre. A brand new Zumba for Kids class will meet on Wednesdays. Visual arts inclined children will enjoy Preschool Art, Animal Drawing, Family Ceramics, Creative Drawing, Urban & Street Arts, Harry Potter, Youth Ceramics, Fundamentals of Art, Youth Watercolor, Slime Making Ages 6-9 and Ages 10-14, Manga & Comic Book Drawing, Sculpture from Pop Culture, and Kids Mixed Media Painting. Lastly, Cornerstone’s Martial Arts program is perfect for kids looking to learn self-defense while having fun.
For teenagers and adults of all ages Cornerstone will offer a variety of weekly classes. For anyone looking to get moving consider Adult Ballet I Non-Performance, Adult Ballet I Performance, Adult Ballet II, Adult Tap, Adult Contemporary, Ballroom Dancing, Swing & Salsa Dancing, Bollywood, Beginning Belly Dance, Finger Cymbals for Belly Dance, Irish Step Dancing Level 1 or 2, Adult Hip Hop, or join our Adult Performance Troupe. Teens and adults looking to get fit will enjoy Basic Yoga, Zumba, AcroYoga, or Core Yoga. Visual arts courses this summer are Acrylic Painting, Adult Ceramics, Harry Potter, Urban & Street Arts, Mixed Media Arts, Fluid Art, Watercolor Basics, Watercolor II, Adult Painting, Manga & Comic Book Drawing, Creative Drawing, and Farmhouse Vintage. Students ages 16 through adults will enjoy the challenge of Cornerstone’s USA Combat Jujitsu for new and returning students.
Cornerstone offers year round private lessons in the areas of piano, voice, drums, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello, and bass. Private lessons meet once a week one on one with an instructor. Private lesson availability is dependent on instructor’s schedules.
In addition to weekly classes, Cornerstone will offer a series of one-time workshops throughout the late spring and summer. Check out Coffee & Paints, Monthly Dance Club, Pop Up Dance with Katie Cannon, Bad Art Night, Pints & Paints at The Fickle Peach, Girls Night Out – Jewelry Making, Pop Up Fitness with Katie Cannon, En Plein Air, or Master Class Dance Workshops with Jacob Drummer.
Cornerstone will host multiple youth camps throughout the summer. Rock and Roll Summer Camp will meet from June 17 to June 22 immersing students 11 to 17 into the music industry. Cornerstone will host two Summer Arts Camps June 24 to 28 and July 22 to 26 introducing children ages 6 to 14 to visual arts, dance, theatre, music, martial arts, and more.
Cornerstone offers financial aid scholarships to youth and adults who qualify. One partial or full scholarship per person is awarded per session. Applications for financial aid are available online or in person at Cornerstone’s second floor desk.

Join Cornerstone Center for Arts on Thursday, June 6 for the opening reception of Sparking Nostalgia Through Pop Culture, an art exhibition by Will Britton Jr. The reception will take place in the Judith Barnes Memorial Gallery on the second floor of Cornerstone from 5 to 7 p.m. in conjunction with June’s First Thursday events.
