Fall Classes at Cornerstone

Fall is right around the corner and Cornerstone Center for the Arts has an exciting class session planned to keep the entire family engaged in the arts. Fall classes begin on Monday, September 10 and run until Thursday, December 6. Registration is open for the twelve-week session of arts classes for youth and adults in visual arts, dance, theatre, music, martial arts, fitness, and more!

Cornerstone’s youth classes start with age one and continue through high school. Classes offered this fall include: Creative Movement, Early Ballet I, II, and III, Youth Ballet, Early Tap I, Youth Tap, Early Hip Hop Jazz I and II, Youth Hip Hop, Boys Hip Hop, Youth Swing Dancing, Youth Lyrical, Youth Musical Theatre, Youth Contemporary & Jazz, Martial Arts for new and returning students, Family Art, Animal Drawing, Family Ceramics, Creative Drawing, Lettering & Calligraphy, Wax Art, Youth Ceramics, Harry Potter, Youth Painting, Youth Watercolor, Manga & Comic Book Drawing, Acting 101, Acting 102, The Arttacgo Luckett Performance Academy and more!

For teenagers and adults of all ages Cornerstone will offer a variety of weekly classes. Courses to consider include: Adult Ballet I Non-Performance and Performance, Adult Ballet II, Adult Tap I and II, Contemporary & Jazz, Hip Hop Combos, Contemporary & Hip Hop Fusion, Ballroom Dancing, Swing & Salsa Dancing, Bollywood, Beginning Belly Dance, Balkan Fusion Belly Dance, Beginner Irish Step Dancing, USA Combat Jujitsu for new and returning students, Basic Yoga, Zumba, Acro Yoga, Flow Yoga, Core Yoga, Acrylic Painting, Adult Ceramics, Fluid Art, Open Studio, Calligraphy & Graffiti, Harry Potter, Adult Painting, Farmhouse Vintage, Watercolor Basics, Watercolor II, Mixed Media Arts, Manga & Comic Book Drawing, Creative Drawing, Acting I, Behind the Scenes of Theatre, and more!

Cornerstone offers year round private lessons in the areas of piano, voice, dance, drums, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello, and bass. Private lessons meet once a week one on one with an instructor.

In addition to weekly classes, Cornerstone will offer a series of one-time workshops from August through December for both teens and adults. One-time workshops this fall include Monthly Dance Club, Bad Art Night with Muncie Public Library, Coffee & Paints, Pints & Paints at The Fickle Peach, Inspired by the Masters, Forgotten Places and Faces of Muncie, Studying Indiana with Maps, and more!

Cornerstone will host multiple youth camps throughout the fall. Rock and Roll Summer Camp will have a fall workshop series on Saturdays between August 18 and September 22 with a final concert on September 23. Cornerstone will host its Fall Break Arts CampOctober 8 through 10.

Cornerstone offers financial aid scholarships to youth and adults who qualify. One partial or full scholarship per person is awarded per session. Applications for financial aid are available online or in person at Cornerstone’s second floor desk.

The Harmony Players will present H.M.S. Pinafore live at Cornerstone Center for the Arts this May. Performances of this charming and funny light opera about love and mistaken identities will take place on May 9, 10, and 11 with shows at 7:30 p.m. each evening and a special matinee on Saturday at 2 p.m.
