Fall 2019 Classes and Lessons

As Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist. The key is how to remain an artist once they grow up.” Embrace and hone your creativity at Cornerstone Center for the Arts Education classes, camps, and workshops. Cornerstone will offer classes for the entire family this fall. Fall twelve-week classes begin the week of September 9 and continue through the week of December 2. Various one-time workshops and camps will also be offered throughout fall as well. Registration is now open for classes for youth and adults in visual arts, dance, theatre, music, martial arts, fitness, and more!

Great Classes for Kids and Teens

Cornerstone’s youth classes start with age 1 and continue through high school. Classes offered this fall include: Acting 101 & 102; Animal Drawing; Beginner & Intermediate/Advanced Performance Group; Boys Hip Hop Ages 5-9; Boys Hip Hop Ages 10-14; Ceramics; Contemporary & Jazz; Creative Drawing I & II; Creative Movement; Early Ballet I, II, & III; Early Hip Hop Jazz I & II; Early Musical Theatre; Early Tap I & II; Family Ceramics; Fundamentals of Art; Lyrical & Modern I & II; Preschool Art; Slime Making Ages 6-13; Swing; Urban & Street Arts; Watercolor; Youth Ballet; Youth Manga & Comic Book Drawing; Youth Musical Theatre; and Youth Tap. Cornerstone’s Martial Arts program is perfect for students looking to learn self-defense while having fun.

New Classes for Kids and Teens

Our brand new kids and teens classes offered this fall include: All Things Fairy; Early Elementary Art; Music for Munchkins; and Stop Motion Animation for Ages 8-11 & Ages 12-15.

Awesome Classes for Teens and Adults

For teenagers and adults of all ages Cornerstone will offer a variety of weekly classes. Fall classes include: Acrylic Painting; Adult Ceramics; Adult Painting; Advanced Watercolor; Ballet I Non-Performance; Ballet I Performance; Ballet II; Ballroom; Basic Yoga; Beginning Belly Dance; Bollywood; Contemporary Dance; Core Yoga; Creative Drawing; Farmhouse Vintage; Fluid Art; Hip Hop; Irish Step Dancing Level I, II, & III; Manga & Comic Book; Mixed Media Arts; Swing & Salsa; Tap; Urban & Street Arts; and Watercolor Basics. Students ages 16 through adults will enjoy the challenge of Cornerstone’s USA Combat Jujitsu for new and returning students.

New Classes for Teens and Adults

Our brand new teen and adult classes offered this fall include: Advanced Sword for Belly Dancers; Belly Dance Sirocco Student Troupe; Drawing from Life; Hip Hop Dance Aerobics; Printmaking; and Saidi Cane Dancing for Belly Dancers.

Private Lessons for All Ages

Cornerstone also offers year round private lessons in the areas of bass, bass guitar, cello, drums, guitar, piano, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice. Private lessons meet once a week one on one with an instructor. Private lesson availability is dependent on the instructor’s schedules.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts is excited to announce a new entertainment series launching this fall. Performances @ Cornerstone is presented in partnership with Ball State University’s School of Music, Department of Theatre & Dance, and The Harmony Players. The series will consist of free biweekly performances on Sundays at 2 p.m. in the E.B. Ball Auditorium at Cornerstone.

A Family Affair
A Family Affair

Join Cornerstone Center for Arts on Thursday, September 5 for the opening reception of A Family Affair featuring art by Linda, Jerry, and Eloise McKean. The reception will take place in the Judith Barnes Memorial Gallery on the second floor of Cornerstone from 5 to 7 p.m. in conjunction with September’s First Thursday events.
