Exclusively Online Summer Classes

Cornerstone Center for the Arts is excited to announce Exclusively Online Classes for the 2020 Summer Session. In these trying times the arts are even more important. Creativity is vital to personal and societal health. While social distancing we can still come together as a community. A selection of our most popular Arts Education programming will be available exclusively online beginning the week of June 1 and ending July 23.


Classes will be held virtually on a weekly basis via an interactive streaming service. No in-person classes will be taught at this time. Registration is available online at cornerstonearts.org. Online classes will feature the areas of visual arts, dance, and theatre. Visual art classes will include a supply kit designed for the 8 week session. Limited financial aid will be available. 


Visual arts classes to keep kids creative include Digital Drawing and Painting, Youth Creative Arts, Youth Graffiti & Urban Arts, Youth Manga & Comic Book Drawing, Fundamentals of Art, and Early Elementary Art. Adults and teens can find a new passion in visual arts with Adult Creative Arts, Adult Graffiti & Urban Arts, Adult Manga & Comic Book Drawing, Young Adult Creative Arts, Adult Painting, Acrylic Painting, Chalk Pastels, and Watercolor Basics.


Cornerstone offers dance classes for all ages. Preschool dance classes include Creative Movement, Early Ballet I, II & III, Early Hip Hop Jazz I & II, and Early Tap I & II. Students ages 6 to 10 will enjoy Youth Ballet, Youth Lyrical & Modern, and Youth Tap. Teens and adults can get moving with Teen Ballet, Teen Contemporary & Modern, Bollywood, Adult Ballet I, Adult Ballet II, Adult Contemporary and Modern, Belly Dance 101, Belly Dance Boot Camp, and Exploring the Art of Burlesque (18+).


Theater classes include Early Theater & Drama (ages 3 to 5), Youth Theater & Drama (ages 6 to 10), and Adult Musical Theater (14+).

Cornerstone Center for the Arts will host both virtual and in-person workshops this July. Through our partnership with Ball State University Libraries, CCA will offer a historical look at one summer in Muncie during, Ablaze: One Crazy Summer in Muncie. Get ready to clear out the junk drawer for the first Bad Art Night Online in coordination with Muncie Public Library via Zoom. Then come on back inside Cornerstone Center for the Arts with an in-person Tap II Workshop.

A Taste of Muncie's 34th year will have to safely wait until next year.
In accordance with Indiana's COVID-19 reopening guidelines, and with our community's safety in mind, A Taste of Muncie, which was rescheduled for June 7th, is to be postponed until 2021.
