Looking for something to do this summer? Cornerstone provides high quality, low-cost arts education year round. Summer classes begin on Monday, June 11 and will run until Thursday, August 2. Registration is open for the eight-week session of arts classes for youth and adults in visual arts, dance, music, martial arts, fitness, and more!
Cornerstone’s youth classes start with age one and continue through high school. Classes offered this spring include: ballet, tap, hip hop jazz, hip hop, jazz, ballroom dancing, lyrical, private piano, voice, drums, guitar, string, and horn lessons, martial arts, sensory art, family art, animal drawing, lettering and calligraphy, manga and comic book drawing, creative drawing, wax art, Harry Potter crafts, painting, ceramics, and more!
For teenagers and adults of all ages Cornerstone will offer a variety of weekly classes. Courses to consider include: ballet, tap, contemporary and jazz, dance technique, hip hop combos, ballroom dancing, Bollywood, belly dance, private piano, voice, drums, guitar, strings, and horn lessons, USA Combat Jujitsu, yoga, pilates, piloxing, zumba, calligraphy and graffiti, manga and comic book drawing, creative drawing, salvage art, farmhouse vintage, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, mixed media painting, ceramics, and more!
In addition to weekly classes, Cornerstone will offer a series of one-time workshops from June through August for both teens and adults. One time workshops this summer include: Monthly Dance Club, Bad Art Night with Muncie Public Library, Coffee & Paints, Pints & Paints at The Fickle Peach, Oh, That’s Funny!, and Cornerstone at Books and Brews.
Cornerstone will host three youth camps in June and July. June Summer Arts Camp will be held Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29, while July Summer Arts Camp will run Monday, July 23 to Friday, July 27. Rock and Roll Summer Camp will take place Monday, June 18 to Friday, June 22, with a concert on Saturday, June 23.
Cornerstone offers financial aid scholarships to youth and adults who qualify. One partial or full scholarship per person is awarded per session. Applications for financial aid are available online or in person at Cornerstone’s second floor desk.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts will participate in the Giving Tuesday movement on Tuesday, December 3. Giving Tuesday is a worldwide day dedicated to strengthening communities, encouraging giving and celebrating generosity. Each year, Giving Tuesday takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick-off holiday giving. Local communities are encouraged to participate at the individual, nonprofit and corporate levels.

Join Cornerstone Center for the Arts on Thursday, November 7 for the opening reception of Inamorata & the Floating City featuring art by Sarah Richcreek. The reception will take place in the Judith Barnes Memorial Gallery on the second floor of Cornerstone from 5 to 7 p.m. in conjunction with November’s First Thursday events.
