Cornerstone Center for the Arts Partners with the Community to Provide Free and Affordable Events

Cornerstone Center for the Arts will host both virtual and in-person workshops this July. Through our partnership with Ball State University Libraries, CCA will offer a historical look at one summer in Muncie during, Ablaze: One Crazy Summer in Muncie. Get ready to clear out the junk drawer for the first Bad Art Night Online in coordination with Muncie Public Library via Zoom. Then come on back inside Cornerstone Center for the Arts with an in-person Tap II Workshop.

Free workshop, Ablaze: One Crazy Summer in Muncie, in partnership with Ball State University Libraries, highlights a 1917 Muncie community through maps and historic photographs. A summer of pivotal history: United States in World War I; Indiana legislature bill passed for women to vote; protests for Civic Rights; Prohibition law struggled as new Muncie prosecutor lobbied to close gambling houses and speakeasies. Muncie changed forever when a defunct college was purchased by a group of businessmen, the Ball brothers.

Ablaze: One Crazy Summer in Muncie will be held on Tuesday, July 7th 6-7:30pm via Zoom. Register here to receive the meeting link.

Muncie Public Library and Cornerstone Center for the Arts will hold their first ever Bad Art Night Online for a free evening celebration of not-so-beautiful art! Bad Art Night encourages attendees to release their stress by creating the tackiest, ugliest, and most ridiculous pieces. Registration is required; donations are welcome.

Bad Art Night Online will be held Thursday, July 23rd 6:30-8pm via Zoom. Register here to receive the meeting link.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts will open its doors for a one-time only Tap II Workshop taught by CCA instructor, Jara Rowe. Brush off your tap shoes and come on over to learn a combo for returning students or those with tap experience. Social distancing measures will apply, and patrons are welcome to wear face masks and utilize hand sanitizing stations throughout the building.

Tap II Workshop will take place on Thursday, July 23rd from 6:30-8:00 pm at Cornerstone Center for the Arts Subaru Dance Studio. Register here to claim your spot.
