Edmund Burke Ball Auditorium
Location: First Floor
Capacity: 1,000 people
In 1925, soon after the foundation was laid, the five Ball Brothers gave a $150,000 donation with the stipulation that an auditorium be added to the Temple's structure for community use. Architect Cuno Kibele altered the plans, adding a horseshoe-shaped 1,000-seat auditorium to the building--shaped for better acoustics and viewing. The artwork of Gustav Brand adorns the auditorium. Stenciling and gold leaf decorate the walls, while a rich blue velvet curtain drapes the proscenium. A spectacular Bohemian imported glass chandelier adds to the elegance. This space is ideal for community theatre performances, concerts, fundraisers, commencements, lectures and even wedding ceremonies.
